Stapled Illustrated Booklet (Paperback) 240 x 140 mm approx. 16pp.15 b/w line drawings. Promotional booklet attributed as being written by "Callisthenes" the nom de plume of the editorial writer who prepared the "Callisthenes Column" which appeared every evening in the four 1d newspapers of London at the time. This column espoused the policies, principles and opinions of the store. This is now generally known as in fact being self publicity by Selfridges which had been established by Harry Gordon Selfridge in 1908 and opened in Oxford street in 1909. The booklet was published to mark the acquisition of newly added premises opposite the original building in Oxford street in 1914. A scarce item of publicity ephemera for this famous Oxford Street Store. VG (Booklet- covers respectably clean with no notable shelf wear, soiling or previous owner name).
